Author: James Found
Retail: A$26.958
Binding: Paperback
Pages: 336
Category: Biblical Languages/Greek

The author, in consultation with a professor teaching first-year Greek, has developed a self-study system which puts a working knowledge of Greek within the realm of possibility for almost anyone!

This workbook is for the one who may not have either the time or the opportunity for a formal, college-level Greek course. As an introduction to Greek, it is also valuable preparation for a standard academic course.

After completion of this study, the student will be able to pronounce Greek words fluently and will know the Greek alphabet. He can also know the meaning of hundreds of New Testament words, understand the background of dozens of religious terms through seeing the Greek components which form them, recognize relationships between Bible words which may not be easily apparent in English translations, use Greek dictionaries and other reference books, and understand the general outlines of Greek grammar.

A New Testament Greek workbook for laymen, so simply presented that the student will begin reading some Greek the very first day!

A Beginner's Reader-Grammar for New Testament Greek

ISBN: 156-563-599X
Author: Ernest C Colwell & Ernest W. Tune
Retail: A$26.95
Binding: Paperback
Pages: 112
Category: Biblical Languages/Greek
Publisher: Hendrickson Publishing
Publication: 2001

A Beginner's Reader-Grammar for New Testament Greek has two parts: a concise grammar and a series of readings. The included readings are based on the actual content of the Greek New Testament but constructed to begin easy and lead the student through basic vocabulary and grammar. The authors have abandoned the method that takes the student through a progression of grammar lessons, each concluding with a few sentences for translation. Rather, after learning the alphabet and the pronunciation of Greek words, the student begins immediately to read text, learning to find needed information in standard reference tools.

For 100 years the Hatch and Redpath Concordance to the Septuagint has been an indispensable tool for biblical scholars. This revised edition assures that the tool will be used for many years to come.

One of the most useful additions to the concordance is a new Hebrew index by internationally renowned Septuagint scholar Takamitsu Muraoka. This new index lists all of the Greek words used to translate each Hebrew and Aramaic word. Since the old index listed only page and column references, Muraoka's index will allow for more efficient research.

This edition boasts a number of other new features. Corrections, which were previously listed only in the appendix, are identified in the text. A new introduction by Septuagint scholars Robert Kraft and Emanuel Tov has been added as well as a complete list of abbreviations. Also, both volumes of the previous edition are combined into one binding.
